After almost four years of design review,
a major city in the northern Midwest has decided to
use Brackett Green® CF 200® Band Screens and
the MacerAcer® Screenings Conditioning process.
The initial design will implement 3 of 4 "CF 200"
Band Screens each capable of passing 60 MGD with 5mm
screen apertures, essentially making this the country's
largest fine band screen installation on the head works
of a waste water treatment plant.
The owner and the final design engineer
spent almost a year specifically reviewing different
types of screens, flow patterns, cleaning methods and
ways to treat the concentrated screenings. Brackett
Green worked closely with closely with the owner and
engineer to demonstrate the clear advantages of both
the CF 200 and MacerAcer. Virtually every aspect of
each product was examined and critiqued from the point
of functionality, space requirements, utility consumption,
wear, corrosion, maintenance, reliability, cost and
most importantly - sites with similar sized equipment
and their history. At the end of the day, Brackett Green's
equipment was select based on longevity and cost.
The CF 200 Band Screens will provide the
owner with proven reliable fine screens that require
only wash water for cleaning with no secondary brushes
thus reducing operating and maintenance cost. The MacerAcer
will reduce the overall end product volume by as much
as 5 times as compared to washing screw compactors,
thus saving the owner thousand of dollars per annum
in disposal cost. The equipment is due for delivery
in the summer of 2004 with start up later in the year. |
